The BFFRLM, and the Bega Valley Shire Council Companion Animals Control Areas Procedure, do not allow companion animals in the reserves. This helps to prevent endangered ground-nesting birds and their hatchlings from unnecessary stress and interference. Protecting marsupials, lizards, birds, and their habitat is the primary focus for the BFFLRM in these areas.
Bermagui North Lagoon: Companion animals are not permitted on the walking tracks between Wallaga Lake Road and Moorhead beach dunes at any time, but are permitted on the beach adjacent to the reserve.Â
Long Swamp: Companion animals are not permitted on the public area between the road closure at southern end of the reserve on Old Tilba Road South to the road closure at the northern end of the reserve on Old Tilba Road North, and including the dune area but not including the beach. Companion animals are not permitted on the walking track at any time but are permitted on leash on the beach adjacent to the reserve.
